Scripta Manent trial appeal hearing scheduled (Turin, Italy, December 5, 2022)
Last July, the Court of Cassation [in Rome, since the Cassation in Italy is only located in the capital] requalified as a so-called political massacre one of the crimes for which anarchists Anna Beniamino and Alfredo Cospito were convicted in the Scripta Manent trial. Life imprisonment is the basic penalty under the penal code for political massacre. After re-qualifying the crime, the Court of Cassation sent the case back to the Court of Appeal to redetermine the sentences. The hearing that will decide the extent of these sentences has been set for December 5 in Turin.
