The restrictive house arrest measures against Luigi and Veronica in connection with Operation “Delivery” have been revoked
The Florence re-examination court revoked the house arrest (which included a ban on communication and visits) that the preliminary investigations judge had ordered against Luigi and Veronica. They were arrested on September 11 as part of Operation “Delivery” and are under investigation for “acts of terrorism involving deadly or explosive devices” and other related crimes. They received notification of the revocation of their restrictive house arrest during the first week of October. The court’s reasoning has not yet been filed. As a reminder, two operations occurred in connection with this case between March 26 (four house searches in the municipalities of Carrara, Faenza, Pisa, and Sarzana) and September 11 (arrests and six house searches in the municipalities of Carrara, Montignoso, Pisa, and Sarzana). The Florence District Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate requested imprisonment.
The proceedings concern the placement of an explosive device at a secondary entrance to the Pisa courthouse on February 21, 2023. This action was part of the mobilization in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito. At the time, he had been on a hunger strike for over 120 days against the 41 bis detention regime and life imprisonment without parole. With the 2022-23 mobilization, we prevented Alfredo Cospito from being sentenced to life imprisonment without parole – which was almost certain with the outcome of the “Scripta Manent” trial in the Cassation Court – and we obstructed anti-anarchist (and other) repression. Today, we continue the struggle against 41 bis, which is being used as a war prison against Alfredo and three BR-PCC militants.
